Selected players from the Development Centre (DC) are invited to attend an Academy Centre (AC).  This is the next step on England Hockey's "Player Pathway." Berkshire select players from all year groups to take part in the Academy Centre programme. The Academy Centre consists of ten training sessions held on Friday evenings.  The sessions are high intensity, challenging and are designed to build on existing hockey skills at an individual level and promote team play.  The sessions normally last for 90 minutes.

Players are selected from the AC squads to represent Berkshire in the South AC Championship with four match dates per age group.  Matches are played as triangulars (3 teams coming together in one location and playing against each other).  In 2018, the matches will take place on the following dates:

  • March 18
  • April 15
  • April 22
  • May 6

A small number of players who show the requisite levels of attitude and ability during the Academy Centre programme will be nominated to attend the next step on the England Hockey Player Pathway . . .  a Performance Centre (PC).  Good luck to all players!
